I’ve learned so much these last few months. I’ve learned HTML coding, Photoshop, how to spell Cher Lloyd and what Joan Rivers looks like in person. But, I’ve learned so much more than that.</p> <p>I’ve spent my entire college time preparing for the future. There hasn’t been one quarter of school that I haven’t taken a full load, plus had a job or a demanding internship. I don’t go to venue parties every weekend. Or at all. I work. I study. I spend a lot of time with my family. I spent every weekend this summer in the ABC7 newsroom, sometimes past midnight. And I loved it. Not a lot of people my age understand that. I’ve often thought, “Am I doing this all wrong? Am I going to regret this?” It wasn’t until I met the other interns at RSP that I knew I was doing everything okay. I’ve never been in a place like that, where I&#8217;m surrounded by people with the same goal. Being at RSP has taught me that it’s okay to be paranoid about the future. I know Kelsey and Jake are too. It’s okay to want to be rich, Brit has made me sure of that. It’s okay to think about balancing your future career with your future family even though I’m only 22. (Taylor Swift plug.) It’s okay to take a few risks to get ahead in life: “It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.” Thanks Jeff- you also taught me it’s okay to be Kool. It’s okay to dream about dating a celeb because Alex really is. Heck! Thanks to Marissa, I’ve learned I can even skip my finals and still be awesome. It’s okay to spend too much time at ULTA— imagine if I had an employee discount like Ashley. It’s okay to be proud of your accomplishments. Jade won an Emmy! It’s okay to have a guilty pleasure for the Kardashians because you can channel that into a writing job- thanks Mike! I learned that my weird obsessions are actually a talent and that one day, I can confidently make a living doing what I love. Thank you Michael.</p> <p><br/> Most importantly, the big man himself taught me that it’s okay: <br/> “There’s a mantra I’ve lived by throughout my entire career that I think is one of the keys to my success: Say yes.
